FHTS signs an MOU with Panimalar Medical College Hospital & Research Institute to establish the country’s First SMAART Population Health Informatics Intervention Center.

Vision: To become an institute of excellence in research, innovation, community engagement and informed policy-making using Sustainable, Multisectoral, Accessible, Affordable, Reimbursable and Tailored (SMAART) informatics framework.

Mission: The center aims to design, develop, implement and evaluate human centered, technology enabled interventions that can translate research into practice to enhance good health well -being of individuals, families and the communities they live in.

Location: 204, Second Floor, Medical College  Block, Panimalar Medical college Hospital & Research Institute, Chennai.

Key activities proposed

  • Conduct population health informatics intervention research to guide data driven policy making.
  • Train medical, nursing, allied health and engineering students to become physician researchers and next gen public health leadership workforce skilled in using data driven decision-making.
  • Translate research into practice using smaart informatics framework to enhance community well-being.
  • Engage policy makers and other stakeholders to create community impact locally, nationally and globally
