Central Library

The PMCHRI CENTRAL LIBRARY is well equipped with medical books, CDs and DVDs, bound volumes, and national and international journals. The library has a carpet area of 3235 square meters and is spread over two floors with separate reading halls for students and staff members. The centrally air-conditioned and automated library complements the rich learning experience. The library premises feature a separate digital library equipped with 75 computers and a dedicated high-speed internet connection.

The library has subscribed to 60 national and international journals (print) and also subscribed to 4559 e-journals and 17928 e-books (ProQuest) every year.

The central library has 11,924 books from various departments.

We have many facilities that are designed to give you the ability to choose from different learning areas, such as the reading hall, stockroom, video/DVD room, journal section, conference hall, digital and virtual library, and outside reading hall.

Procedure For Membership

  • All the students/faculty members of this institution are members of the central library.
  • The library membership form will be issued in the central library; members should submit the membership form to the chief librarian along with 1 stamp-sized photograph.
  • The newly joined faculty members can get their library cards from the library by showing their appointment orders.
  • Students and the faculty members are required to make the maximum use of the library and reading room facilities provided by the college.
  • The library premises should be used for academic and research purposes only.
  • All the visitors are requested to maintain silence inside the library building and adhere strictly to its rules and regulations. Chatting, eating, sleeping, and using mobile phones are strictly prohibited inside the library premises.

General Rules

All the members are requested to make their entry inside the Central Library by using the “Gate Entry System.”

All personal belongings (except money) should be kept in the safety deposit room of the library.

Library Working Hours: Monday to Saturday: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM; Sundays: 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The library timings may be changed whenever there is a necessity (during the examination days).

The readers should not deface, mark, cut, or mutilate the reading material in any manner. Readers will be solely responsible for any damage caused by them to the documents.

Silence should be maintained in the library and reading room.

Use of mobile phones inside the library is strictly prohibited.
